One-pot synthesis of mesosilica/nano covalent organic polymer composites and their synergistic effect in photocatalysis

Organic-inorganic hybrid materials provide a desirable platform for the development of novel functional materials. Here, we report one-pot synthesis mesoporous nanospheres by in-situ sol-gel condensation tetraethoxysilane around surfactant micelle-confined nano covalent organic polymer (nanoCOP) colloids. The containing nanoCOPs uniformly distributed in mesosilica network, inherited visible light responsive properties nanoCOPs. turnover frequency is almost 12 times that its corresponding bulk COP counterpart photocatalytic reductive dehalogenation α-bromoacetophenone, which attributed to activation Hantzsch ester reductant hydroxyl group. existence volcano relationship between activity and nanoCOP/mesosilica ratio confirmed synergistic effect nanoCOP mesosilica. Our preliminary results suggest hybridization semiconductors reactant-activating an efficient strategy enhancing catalyst photocatalysis.
